Created while interning at Design of Today. This was part of a bigger series of projects that Design of Today was creating for the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy.
Social Media Marketing
A big part of my job duties while at dōTERRA was creating social media images for the Israel and Ukraine markets. I would work closely with the Marketing Coordinator to come up with a monthly calendar for social media posts and then execute the designs. They would help me come up with the content and send me translations for text while I researched what other markets and other companies were posting to help aid the style and direction of the design and stay up to date with design trends.
eBook
eBook created for dōTERRA Russia. This design later became a template for other eBooks made specifically for the Russian market.
Branding
Branding for the 2022 dōTERRA Israel Convention STRONGER.
The name "Stronger" came from the idea that we are stronger when we work together and work to empower one another.
dōTERRA is a company that prides itself on its values and its dedication to empowering people and blessing lives. Through the dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation, dōTERRA does what it can to bring healing and hope to the world by coming together to help global communities through development projects.
The dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation is constantly working on projects to provide access to healthcare, education, sanitation and clean water, and fighting child sex-trafficking. Through these projects individuals are empowered and lives are changed.
To quote William James "We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface but connected on the deep." When we choose to embrace and serve others: differences become strengths, barriers become stepping stones, and progress prevails.
These are the values that were kept in mind when creating the branding for STRONGER because we are stronger when we come together to reach a common goal.
Art Direction - Photography
Part of my duties as a graphic designer for the dōTERRA Israel market included directing photo shoots for market specific promotions and products.
This consisted of planning out the photo shoot and gathering the product and props, shopping for and making props as needed, finding and booking the location for the shoot, hiring models if needed, scheduling a time with photographer Joshua Ferguson, leading the photo shoot and setting up product to be shot, and finally once photos were received back make any necessary edits and prepare for use on the website, social media, and other platforms where these photos may be displayed.
Illustration
Many of the tarot decks that exist, especially traditional decks, feature intricate illustrated designs. However, in recent years more and more artists have decided to create their own interpretations of these cards and create new and unique styled decks.
This inspired me to try designing a deck of my own. For this deck I wanted to keep the designs as simple and geometric as possible while still conveying the same meaning of the original cards. I chose a simple color palette and a handful of shapes and the end result was what we have here, Madame Mystic's Tarot Deck.
This deck was designed primarily in Adobe Illustrator.
Packaging
While interning for Design of Today I helped create the packaging for these face masks. I designed the individual mask packaging while Trenton Miller designed the outer package that holds the masks (that come in packs of 3 or 6).
This project was particularly exciting as an intern because I was there for the majority of the branding process for Farmer & Chemist from brainstorming their name and logo to creating this packaging which influenced the design for all the other packaging at Farmer & Chemist.
News Graphics
A typical day in the newsroom consisted of making dozens of graphics throughout the day for any number of uses. Through use of templates to make the process quicker, I could be given anywhere between a few hours to a couple minutes to get a graphic ready to be shown on-air.
Logo Rebrand
In 2020 I was hired on as a freelance designer to aid in the rebrand for Mineral and Matter, a local jewelry brand. I was hired through the company Hot Slice Design.
Here are my three final concepts for the project.
Branding + Packaging
Packaging concepts for the rebrand of Dr. Mushroom Tea, a beverage company based in Park City, Utah.
Social Media Ads
A series of social media ads created for the Ascent Academies of Utah in 2020.
Album Artwork
A passion project done to explore illustration and collage techniques for a design project.
I've always loved album artwork and how creative and unique it can be. There are so many albums out there that I can't tell you the name of but I remember them based off of the album cover. I decided to do this project to try out making one of these art pieces for myself and chose the album Eyelid Movies by Phantogram because it is one of my personal favorites.
I used the program Procreate on my iPad to create this piece and then used mockups to show how you might see this cover across multiple platforms.
Poster Design
From the Summer of 2020 to the Fall of 2023 Salt Lake City Skate Babes was a group ran by a few friends who wanted to get together to roller skate. This group gained popularity and recognition and became a much larger community for people to come together and enjoy skating or even just sitting on the lawn nearby and listening to music. They got together primarily on Monday nights and would have a theme and a DJ playing music. They mostly met at the Jordan Park Bike Polo Courts in Salt Lake City but would occasionally host bigger events at paid venues.
I regularly attended these events and was occasionally asked to design event posters for some of their themed skate nights. These are a few of those posters.
Branding
In 2020, I was hired on to develop the visual identity for the company The Hive Beauty Ink.
This consisted of designing the logo and determining the overall aesthetic of the brand including the color scheme, illustration and photography style, typography, and any other assets to help develop the brand's identity.
For this project the owner of The Hive Beauty Ink wanted a style that felt elegant and clean with themes of nature and beauty. I used earthy color tones and a combination of fine line floral illustration and geometric shapes to achieve this.
